Regional Livability Footprint/Smart Growth Strategy
From 2000 to 2002, the Bay Area Alliance and the Bay Area's five regional agencies engaged in a regional dialogue to reach consensus on how the Commitments to Action in the Draft Compact relate to land use. This consensus was accepted as a "regionwide smart growth vision" for the Bay Area that is the starting point for the development of policy-based projections that may be used in future transportation and other regional plans.
